Protect Your 411.
As is the case with any communities/social networking site, don't post anything
you wouldn't want the world to know (your phone number, address,
IM screens name, etc.). When chatting with others, avoid discussing anything
that would make it easy for a stranger to locate you, or to guess your password.
Not Everyone Tells the Truth.
It's fun to connect with new people, but avoid meeting people in person
whom you do not fully know. If you must meet someone, do it in a public place
and bring a friend or trusted adult.
Trust Customer Service Only.
If the message asking you to confirm your password or other account information
does not come from feedback@upocnetworks.com or from the handle Monitor, do not
give out your information. More info on phishing scams:

Act Your Age:
Teen groups are for teens. If you are 18 or older, you will not be permitted
to join, or start, a teen group. And if you are under 18, you are not allowed
to participate in or start adult groups. If you pretend to be older than 18
and you're not, you will be removed from the site. Conversely, if you are over
18 and pretend to be a teenager to contact underage users, you will be removed
from the site. Simply put, don't pretend to be someone you're not.
Represent yourself honestly, and expect the same of others.
Play Nice:
Any type of harassment on Upoc is not tolerated. This includes threatening,
obscene, defamatory, misleading, slanderous, offensive or unlawful material,
or material that violates anyone else's rights, including privacy. This goes
for messages sent both to a group or as a 1-to-1 (private) message. Abiding by
this rule will not only spare you from making enemies,
but also from losing your Upoc privileges.
Don't Chat and Drive.
Cell phone distraction causes 2,600 deaths and 330,000 injuries in the
United States every year, so texting while at the wheel is never a good idea.
Protect yourself and others.
Manage Your Messaging.
Turning your phone off is not the same as turning off your messaging, so if
you join a high-volume group, you can keep from running up your phone bill
(and possibly getting grounded) by going to Settings > My Messages to
disable your SMS when you need to. Also, be mindful of your text messaging
plan and how many members are in the groups you join. If you do not have an
SMS plan that allows for high amounts of messaging,
stick to the smaller-sized groups.
Use The Block and Boot Functions.
In groups, not everyone will get along. Luckily, Upoc provides our members
with the tools they need to choose who they want to be in contact with.
Go to Members > Block List to add the handles of members you do not wish
to contact you. And if a member is being a nuisance to an entire group, only
the owner can Boot that member, so if you are not the owner, send the owner a
private message to request that they boot the bothersome member.
Speak Up.
If you feel someone's behavior is inappropriate, either to yourself or to
another member, say something. Report it to
feedback@upocnetworks.com
or to your local authorities.
