Steven Spencer, CEO

Steven Spencer is currently Chief Executive Officer of Upoc Networks.

Steven was previously Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Senior Vice President for Upoc Networks. In this role, he directed the product development and infrastructure deployment for the New York-based wireless messaging and marketing company.

Previously Steven served as consulting CTO for Critical Mention. In this capacity, he directed the product development and infrastructure deployment for this interactive television media-monitoring company.

Steven has consulted for several firms throughout the wireless industry. He is a well-known industry leader and an oft-requested speaker at trade events. He serves as a member of the leadership board of the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association.

Steven was previously the Executive Vice President for Wireless Systems at Pinnacor. As such, he was responsible for the overall executive leadership of the company's wireless and alternative access segments. He also served as Pinnacor's CTO and headed up their product management function.

Steven's previous experience spans 20 years with Bell Laboratories and Lucent Technologies. During this time, he held the positions of Senior Managing Director of Business Management for the wireless Internet applications, Project Director for Internet appliances, Director of Business Development for Internet Technologies and Project Director for Broadband interactive television. Products that he has managed have produced more than $1 billion in revenue.

Steven began his career with Bell Laboratories in 1980 and has authored four patents.

He has a BSEE from Union College, MSEE from Cornell University and an MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business.
