W Hotels

When W Hotels, the fastest-growing luxury hotel brand in the world, was seeking to revolutionize their guest services, Upoc's mobile community technology provided the solid solution. The result was W To Go™, the first Mobile SMS application specifically designed for the hospitality industry.

Using Upoc's unique mobile technology, W Hotels staff can now communicate with their guests more efficiently, no longer limited to a flashing red voicemail light when guests return to their rooms. Instead, guests receive important notifications about their stay even when they are off the hotel premises. And since SMS capabilities are ubiquitously available on today's mobile handsets, any guest can participate in the program upon check-in, by registering their mobile number.

Guests receive alerts from the concierge service throughout their stay, for events such as a package arrival, dry cleaning delivery, or to confirm or change reservations for restaurants, spa appointments and any other needs or wishes.

Whether room-bound or on the go, Upoc’s messaging capabilities enhance participating guests’ luxury hotel experience.

Alltel Racing Alerts & Live Chats

As the proud sponsor of Ryan Newman and Penske Racing, one of the most successful and recognizable race teams in NASCAR, Alltel enhances its sponsorship and connects with fans through a series of Upoc-powered racing alerts and live chats with team personnel.

Through the mobile application, Alltell users sign up for official race alerts that allow them to be the first to get results, qualifying times and breaking news about Newman.

Participating users choose only the mobile updates they want to receive. And through the interactive live chats, they can take part in an actual dialogue with Newman, asking questions and extending their compliments and overall excitement for the season.

2008 marks Alltel and Newman's seventh season together, helping NASCAR fans stay connected and giving them an inside look at the world of auto racing.

American Idol 6

Upoc again joined forces with AT&T Wireless to promote the nation's top prime-time phenomenon, providing fans with a more personal viewing experience of the sixth season.

Using dedicated short code technology, Upoc powered a series of Idol Text Chats, in which participating users texted in their hot-button questions and comments to the finalists as they left the show. Each time a contestant was voted off, AT&T scheduled the live chat and invited fans who voted for the contestant to participate. Giving fans direct contact with the contestants and host Ryan Seacrest was a rewarding byproduct of Upoc's mobile capabilities.

Other highlights of Idol 6 on AT&T included a mobile sweepstakes (in which the top prizes included up to $1,000,000 and a trip to the finale) and Idol trivia, which gave AT&T customers who consider themselves Idol diehards the chance to test their knowledge, answering questions right from their mobile phone.

The service also featured weekly vote number reminders so that fans who support a particular contestant would be able to vote for their favorite Idol as soon as the voting window opened.
